We are looking for experienced Band 6 registered midwives who are enthusiastic and skilled individuals passionate about promoting midwifery led care and providing low-risk care in a variety of settings. As a midwife on our Midwifery Led Unit and Home Birth Teams, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of countless families, guiding them through the incredible journey of childbirth. Main duties of the job:

  • Assess and advise on the needs of women, birthing people, partners, families and carers, providing emotional support throughout pregnancy and postnatal care.
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate standards of evidence-based midwifery care.
  • Support women and birthing people in both the midwifery led unit and home environments.
  • Recognise deterioration in the physical or mental condition of a patient, taking appropriate action or escalating and managing emergencies.
  • Assist community midwives with day-to-day activities during times of high acuity.

Qualifications:

  • Registered midwife with valid NMC registration.
  • Have completed an approved mentorship course.
  • Professional Midwifery Advocate.

Experience:

  • Band 6 midwife with at least 1 year of experience providing intrapartum care.
  • Experience providing intrapartum care in the home.

Statutory Registration:

Must be a NMC registrant.
