The closing date is 13 July 2026. The post holder will support the Infant Feeding Team when caring for women and birthing people attending antenatal clinic appointments during pregnancy. They will advise on the benefits of initiating breastfeeding and discuss health promotion strategies related to infant feeding methods. The post holder will work as part of the Infant Feeding Team in line with Trust policies, guidelines and UNICEF standards for infant feeding. This is a fantastic opportunity for staff who are interested in maternity care to gain experience and expertise within this important area of maternity care. The post holder will undertake appropriate training to meet the needs of the service, ensuring competency is achieved, maintained and updated yearly. This is a 36 month Fixed Term opportunity.
Main duties of the job:
- Providing care to women requiring Infant Feeding support in line with agreed competencies.
- Supporting and assisting the Infant Feeding team in providing safe, effective and timely Infant Feeding advice.
- Providing support to women seen within specialist infant feeding clinics.
- Inputting data accurately and appropriately and coordinating the facilitation of Infant feeding training dates.
- Working alongside the Infant Feeding Team and supporting maintenance of the Trust’s UNICEF accreditation, in line with the needs of the Infant Feeding Team.

Postholders will contribute to the healthy maternal and infant weight agenda, deliver upon UNICEF standards, promote and drive the Infant Feeding Agenda, and influence positive change in breastfeeding initiation rates.

Experience:
- Experience of working within a healthcare setting.
- Experience of working with pregnant women and their families.
Qualifications:
- Maths and English at GCSE or Equivalent.
- Knowledge of Infant Feeding Agendas.
- Knowledge of health and lifestyle issues relating to adults (gained through practical experience and/or a health related qualification).
Skills:
- Skills to listen, influence, negotiate and motivate individuals in relation to health related behaviours.
- Ability to handle sensitive data with confidentiality.
- Good communication, interpersonal and listening skills.
- Good sound IT skills with experience in a range of Office packages.

Salary: £25,760 to £27,476 a year pro rata / per annum.
