In this non-clinical role, you will work under the supervision of the Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist team to assist in the provision of care. You will have some direct patient contact and your role will make a valuable contribution to improving the experience of people living with cancer.
You will contribute to Cancer Waiting Times (CWT) performance by supporting Clinical Nurse Specialists and patients throughout the pathway, helping to ensure appointments, investigations and treatments are coordinated efficiently and delays are minimised.
You will be a flexible and adaptable advocate for patients, helping them to navigate health and social care while empowering them to make the best choices for their needs. You will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and will provide support to those who may be upset or distressed.
Working collaboratively with a wide range of services, you will ensure that people affected by cancer can access support in their local community, for example Citizens Advice, Joining The Dots, Social Prescribing Link Workers, Health Coaches and hospices.
