Bank Nurse Ophthalmology Injector

This is a Clinical Nurse Specialist role performing Intravitreal Injections within the AMD, RVO, and DMO patient groups.
The maximum number of injections per list is approximately 15. Candidates must have experience in ophthalmic injections.
This role is a bank position supporting both sites, Darlington and Bishop Auckland, to provide service cover.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will join our bank team to work within the ophthalmic service in the administration of intravitreal injections clinics.

Job responsibilities
The job entails injecting patients\’ eyes. The number of patients per list is about 15 eyes. The successful candidate will work within a team daily, including nurses and healthcare assistants.
These patients, unless it is their first injection, are regular visitors to the department.
We are looking for someone already trained in this area who can work on the bank and support the department.
The successful candidate can also learn other skills associated with this role, including vision assessments and intraocular pressures. Training and updates will be provided on the software used to support these clinics.
