We are a successful, independent waste management and recycling company currently looking to recruit a Transport Coordinator to manage and maintain our in-house fleet operation and collection service. The depot is a fast-paced facility handling over 500 collections per day covered by our fleet of Dustcarts, RoRo’s, Skips and other vehicles.
Duties will include:
- Traffic planning, routing and scheduling vehicle movements to maximise profitability and efficiency.
- Uploading all collection data from PDA’s to our central database.
- Debriefing Drivers after their shift finishes.
- Uploading driver taco’s.
- Collecting stock data of containers in storage.
- Liaising with Sales and Account when required.
- Contacting customers should there be disruptions to their regular service.
- Ensuring all driver defects are logged and recorded.
- Dealing with complaints in a quick and efficient manner.
- Sourcing and preparing containers for delivery from the Storage Yard.
- Booking jobs onto the system.
The right candidate will be expected to establish good working relationships with third-party contractors, engaging and coordinating support during peak periods and for specialist needs. The candidate will also be expected to make every effort to enhance efficiency and control costs, whilst maintaining safety standards and quality of service. You will also be tasked with creating a positive and productive working environment, so good communication skills are essential.
