We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Refuse Vehicle Loader to join our busy waste and recycling operation based in Deptford, South East London. The Role
- Working as part of a refuse collection crew, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of waste and recycling from our customers across London.
- Working alongside the driver as part of a refuse collection crew.
- Loading waste and recycling bins onto the refuse collection vehicle.
- Safely operating the vehicle’s bin-lifting equipment.
- Returning bins and containers safely to the correct collection points.
- Assisting the driver when manoeuvring in restricted or busy areas.
- Ensuring collections are completed safely and efficiently.
- Reporting any access issues, contamination or damaged containers.
- Keeping the vehicle and working areas clean and tidy.
- Providing a professional and courteous service to our customers.
- Following all company Health & Safety procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous refuse collection, waste or recycling experience is preferred but not essential.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in an active outdoor role.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
- Good awareness of Health & Safety.
- Able to work effectively as part of a small team.
- Professional and respectful when dealing with customers and members of the public.
- Flexible approach to working hours and overtime when required.
