The Opportunity
Our Client is looking for a Design Engineer to help define and deliver exceptional product experiences for some of the world's most demanding users. Working closely with the CPO and engineering team, you will own user experiences across the product, design system, and customer-facing surfaces. This role sits at the intersection of product design and software engineering. The ideal candidate combines exceptional design judgment with the ability to leverage modern AI development tools and contribute directly to implementation when needed.
What You'll Do
- Own end-to-end user experiences across product and customer-facing surfaces
- Design interfaces that are clean, precise, intuitive, and highly polished
- Collaborate closely with engineering to rapidly ship new product capabilities
- Extend and maintain the design system alongside the product team
- Conduct user research and gather insights from customers and prospects
- Improve onboarding experiences, workflows, and product usability
- Depending on your strengths, contribute directly to implementation or own marketing and client-facing materials
- Help establish a premium and consistent visual identity across all touchpoints
Requirements
- Strong product design and UI/UX fundamentals
- Excellent visual design skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Figma
- Working knowledge of TypeScript and React
- Experience using AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar
- Ability to communicate design decisions clearly and effectively
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to operate independently
- Existing authorization to work in the United Kingdom
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a Design Engineer, UX Engineer, Product Designer, or similar hybrid role
- Experience designing complex B2B software products
- Strong portfolio demonstrating premium, polished, and data-dense interfaces
- Experience building or extending design systems
- Experience creating onboarding experiences, sales materials, or marketing surfaces
- Interest in finance, consulting, or analytical workflows
- Startup or high-growth company experience
