HGV Refuse Driver

Thrive Group Oldham is seeking HGV Refuse Drivers to work for the local authority in and around the Oldham area.

Position Details

• Rate of pay: £14.75 per hour
• Hours: 7.00am – 5.00pm, Monday – Friday
• Location: Oldham and surrounding areas

Purpose of the Job

You will be responsible for providing a safe, efficient, and high-quality refuse collection service, including recycling activities, in all weather conditions.

Job Responsibilities

• Performing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
• Operating vehicle power mechanisms
• Supervising crew duties and working as part of a team
• Ensuring high standards of customer care
• Safely maneuvering the vehicle in tight spaces and around obstacles, pedestrians, and parked vehicles

Requirements

• Class 2 HGV Licence (CAT C), CPC, and Digi-Tacho
• Knowledge of current transport regulations
• Professionalism and a polite, friendly manner
• Ability to drive in all weather conditions
• Leadership qualities and ability to lead by example
• Previous waste/refuse experience preferred but not essential (training provided)
