HGV TECHNICIAN – £55K Basic w £60K+ OTE – 4on 4off Nights Glasgow / North Lanarkshire Permanent Position Up to £55k Basic Salary OTE £60k+ Permanent Nights 4 On / 4 Off 18:00 – 06:00 Overtime Paid at Time and a Half Excellent Training & Development Opportunities JOB DESCRIPTION Are you an experienced HGV Technician looking for a permanent night-shift position offering a strong basic salary, excellent earning potential and a genuine 4-on / 4-off working pattern? We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established transport and logistics business operating across Glasgow and North Lanarkshire. You will work within a busy commercial vehicle engineering environment, carrying out servicing, inspections, diagnostics and repairs to ensure the fleet remains safe, compliant and available for operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician looking for a long-term position with strong earnings, regular time off and ongoing technical development. Your responsibilities will include: * Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles * Completing scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance * Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults * Identifying and repairing defective or worn components * Preparing vehicles for MOT and statutory inspections * Ensuring all work meets DVSA and company maintenance standards * Completing job cards and maintenance documentation accurately * Supporting vehicle availability and minimising downtime * Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and workshop housekeeping DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE To be considered, you should ideally have: * Previous experience as an HGV Technician, Heavy Vehicle Technician or HGV Mechanic * NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair * Strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills * Good knowledge of HGV inspection and maintenance standards * Experience working within a commercial vehicle or fleet workshop * A full UK driving licence A Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence would be advantageous but is not essential. SHIFT PATTERN Permanent Nights 4 On / 4 Off 18:00 – 06:00 The 4-on / 4-off pattern provides regular blocks of four days away from work while maintaining strong annual earning potential. SALARY AND OVERTIME Basic Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum OTE: £60,000+ Overtime: Paid at time and a half Additional overtime opportunities are available for technicians looking to increase their overall earnings.
