An excellent opportunity has become available for 3 experienced HGV Technicians to join an expanding commercial vehicle workshop based in Cambridgeshire. Due to the recent award of a significant new contract, the business is increasing its engineering team and is looking for experienced technicians who can ideally start immediately. You will be joining a well-established, family-run business offering long-term job security, a supportive working environment and genuine opportunities for career progression.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out servicing, routine maintenance and safety inspections on HGVs and commercial vehicles
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment
  • Completing mechanical and electrical repairs to a high standard
  • Preparing vehicles for MOT testing in accordance with DVSA requirements
  • Identifying worn or defective components and completing required repairs
  • Accurately completing job cards, inspection sheets and workshop documentation
  • Ensuring all work complies with Health & Safety requirements and company procedures
  • Working with the wider workshop team to maintain vehicle availability

To be considered for this position, you should have:

  • A minimum of two years' experience as an HGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Mechanic
  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or strong time-served experience
  • Good mechanical, electrical, diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Experience carrying out HGV servicing, inspections and repairs
  • A good understanding of DVSA maintenance standards
  • A full UK driving licence

A Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence would be advantageous but is not essential.

Salary is up to £21.00 per hour depending on experience.

Immediate starts are available for suitable candidates.
