Eh Cafe – English Conversation Circles is a program designed to help newcomers to Canada practice their English conversation skills in an informal, non-judgmental, friendly, and supportive environment. The sessions are led by volunteer facilitators who are fluent in English.
Delivered by Caledon Community Services.
Note: Eh Cafe – ECC is not offered during:
· Summer break (July and August)
· Winter break (2 weeks in December)
· March break (1 week in March)
Volunteers are expected to commit for a minimum of 12 months.

Skills Needed
· ESL teaching experience is an asset.
· Experience working with newcomers is an asset.
· Ability to explain everyday situations comfortably and easily.
· Advanced proficiency in using various teleconferencing platforms, including Zoom.
· Experience using YouTube and other internet media resources for planning interactive sessions.
· Access to a personal computer and reliable internet connection
Duties
· Create opportunities for participants to practice English conversation skills in a relaxed atmosphere.
· Share knowledge about Canadian culture and current events.
· Act as a role model for group members.
· Demonstrate values of punctuality, dependability and reliability.
Mandatory Activities
· Provide session summary and report to Settlement Worker
Qualifications
· TESL Ontario Certification is an asset.
· A desire to empower newcomers to Canada by encouraging them to integrate and thrive in the Canadian society.
· A passion for playing on a team that is progressive.
· Striving to help create programming that anticipates language learners’ needs.
· Awareness and sensitivity to diverse cultures.
· Excellent communication skills including verbal and written.
· Additional languages, an asset.
