ASSISTANT DIRECTOR – BEFORE SCHOOL AND/OR AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM PLASP Child Care Services is a charitable organization operating on a not-for-profit basis, providing high-quality early learning and child care for children up to 12 years of age. PLASP operates in more than 240 schools, offering before school, lunch, and after school programs, along with 30 full-day early learning and child care centres and six EarlyON locations for children from 0 – 6 years. THE POSITION The successful candidate will provide a full range of duties, including: Maintaining a safe, warm, and caring environment in which a high-quality extended day program can operate. Working collaboratively with other staff to plan, develop, and implement programs of stimulating, age-appropriate activities for groups of children. Activities will promote their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual well-being, in accordance with the Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA), How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH), and the guidelines established by PLASP for all program components, including P.A. Days. Supporting the ordering of food for the program and preparing nutritious breakfast and snacks while adhering to the guidelines of the Canada Food Guide and the rotational snack planner. In the Program Director’s absence, being responsible for all administration of the program, including registration, record-keeping, health and safety monitoring, and ordering of supplies. In the Program Director’s absence, operating programs according to the Ministry of Education (MEDU) standards and ensuring the CCEYA license is in good standing. Participating fully in P.A. Days by providing safe, reliable care on and off school premises. Salary Type: per hour Salary: $23.74 Job Requirements THE PREFERRED CANDIDATE WILL HAVE… An ECE degree/diploma and be registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE). A minimum of 2 years’ experience in child care and community service organizations (experience in supervision of staff preferred). Knowledge of the Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA) and Ministry of Education licensing requirements. A valid Standard First Aid Certificate, with Level C CPR.
