The Respite Aide will play a vital role in offering emotional support and in-home respite care for children, adolescents, adults, and families who benefit from the Respite Management Program. Our dedicated staff will provide much-needed rest and relief to parents, guardians, and caregivers of those facing behavioral health challenges. While our staff engages and supervises the designated family member(s), caregivers will have the opportunity to take a well-deserved break, allowing them to recharge while knowing their loved ones are in caring hands. Respite services will be available during the day, evening, and weekend hours, tailored to clients who have an emotional or behavioral history that necessitates specialized support or supervision.

  • Respite Aide hourly pay rate is $20 per hour
  • Respite Aide is a supplemental position
  • Respite Aide assignments available throughout Lancaster County, PA

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide documentation of the care the client receives during the respite placement including daily progress notes, incident reports, medication administration logs and other information deemed necessary.
  • Ensure effective communication and positive interactions with client(s) and family.
  • Provide behavior management, conflict resolution, anger management, and peer interaction.
  • Ensure and assist with appropriate social interactions and leisure activities.
  • Work with families to provide a supportive home environment.
  • Address basic childcare needs to include toileting, diaper change, and feeding.
  • Complete paper work and electronic documentation as required and in a timely fashion.
  • Comply with all HIPAA guidelines regarding confidentiality.
  • Travel to and from clients\\\’ home and/or community locations to perform duties.
  • Attend 30-minute monthly supervision.
  • Complete annual training requirements for position.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education / Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Experience working with children – preferred

Credentials

Clearances current within 12 months

  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Human Services FBI
  • TB Screening (current within 3 months)
  • Education Documentation – Diploma OR Official Transcripts
