Our client is a well-established and growing specialist subcontractor operating across drylining and façade packages, delivering some of London’s most recognisable and technically demanding projects.
Due to continued growth and a strong secured pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Basildon, supporting the delivery of multi-million-pound drylining and façade packages across London. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute QS who wants exposure to high-value projects, major contractors and signature developments.
The Opportunity
Working closely with the Commercial Director and project delivery teams, the successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from award through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial management of multi-million-pound drylining and façade contracts
- Preparing valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
- Cost planning, forecasting and reporting
- Procurement and commercial management of subcontract packages
- Contract administration and management of variations
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Supporting project teams to maximise commercial performance
- Maintaining effective relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
- Contributing to successful project delivery from pre-construction through to completion
Our client is looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within drylining, facades, interiors, fit out or specialist subcontracting
- Strong commercial awareness and contractual knowledge
- Experience managing projects of significant value
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, organised and delivery-focused approach
- Ability to operate both independently and as part of a collaborative team
