About the Opportunity
We are currently partnering with a well-established, medium-sized main contractor who specialise in high-end residential and hotel refurbishment projects across Central London. Due to a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to engage two experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyors to join their team on upcoming and live projects ranging from £500k – £10m. This is an excellent opportunity to work on design-led, premium schemes with a contractor known for quality delivery and repeat business.
The Roles
- Quantity Surveyor – Hotel Fit-Out: You will take the commercial lead on a high-end hotel refurbishment, managing all procurement and cost activities from start through to final account. Working closely with senior leadership, you will oversee a portfolio of smaller high-end residential projects, ensuring strong commercial performance and efficient procurement across multiple schemes.
Key Responsibilities (Both Roles)
- End-to-end procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
- Full commercial management of projects
- Preparation of cost plans, budgets, and forecasts
- Management and administration of JCT contracts
- Handling valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Subcontractor management, including negotiations and payments
- Cost reporting and financial tracking
- Supporting project teams to ensure commercial success
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction
- Track record delivering projects valued between £500k – £10m
- Experience in high-end residential and/or hotel refurbishment
- Strong knowledge of traditional build methods
- Hands-on experience working with JCT contracts
- Ability to operate independently in a freelance capacity
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
