A leading main contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Lead to join the delivery team on a flagship data centre project in North West London. This is a high-profile scheme requiring strong technical leadership and coordination to ensure the successful delivery of complex mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) systems. You will play a critical role in managing the MEP design, installation, commissioning and handover across a technically demanding environment. Working closely with the project director, design teams, consultants and specialist subcontractors, you will ensure systems are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of all MEP packages across the project lifecycle.
- Manage and coordinate MEP subcontractors, ensuring compliance with programme, quality and safety standards.
- Oversee design coordination and ensure buildability of MEP systems.
- Drive commissioning strategy, testing and handover processes.
- Ensure full compliance with data centre technical requirements, resilience standards and redundancy strategies.
- Work closely with the planning team to monitor and mitigate programme risks related to MEP works.
- Review technical submissions, RFIs and design changes.
- Lead coordination meetings with consultants, supply chain and client representatives.
- Support commercial teams with procurement strategy and change management.
- Ensure all works meet relevant UK regulations, codes and client specifications.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience delivering MEP packages on large-scale projects (data centres, mission critical, pharmaceutical, or major infrastructure projects preferred).
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems within mission-critical environments.
- Experience working for a main contractor or major MEP contractor in a leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex supply chains and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of commissioning and handover processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
