We are working in partnership with a main contractor to appoint an experienced Construction Planner for a landmark prime construction development in Central London, valued in excess of £100 million. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a prestigious, design-led project team delivering a complex high-specification scheme in one of London’s most sought-after locations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in programme development, project controls, and delivery strategy from pre-construction through to completion.
The role
The Construction Planner will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring detailed project programmes, ensuring the successful coordination of all planning activities across the lifecycle of the scheme. Working closely with project leadership, commercial, design, and site delivery teams, you will provide clear programme intelligence, identify risks and opportunities, and support decision-making to keep the project on track against key milestones.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed construction programmes using Asta Powerproject
- Produce tender, pre-construction, baseline, and live delivery programmes
- Monitor project progress against programme milestones and critical path activities
- Conduct regular programme reviews with internal and external stakeholders
- Identify programme risks, delays, and mitigation strategies
- Prepare short-term lookaheads, recovery plans, and reporting dashboards
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and commercial teams to ensure programme alignment
- Support change control processes and assess the impact of variations on project timelines
- Provide programme narratives and progress reports for client and leadership review
- Contribute to project controls, earned value, and performance reporting where required
- Ensure planning outputs align with site logistics, phasing, and operational constraints
Candidate profile
- Proven experience as a Construction Planner on major construction projects valued £20m+
- Strong background delivering complex construction projects
- Advanced proficiency in Asta Powerproject is essential
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, logistics, and programme management
- Experience working through both pre-construction and live delivery phases
- Excellent communication skills
- Commercial awareness with the ability to understand programme impact on cost and delivery
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused approach
- Must be able to work in Central London 4 days per week
