Our client is a well-established and growing drylining and facades contractor based in Basildon , delivering specialist packages across a range of commercial and residential projects throughout London.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced

Contracts Manager to oversee multiple projects from pre-construction through to completion.

This is a key position within the business, requiring someone who can take ownership of projects, build strong relationships with clients and contractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple drylining and facade projects across London.
  • Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of contracts.
  • Manage projects from pre-start through to practical completion and final account.
  • Liaise with main contractors, clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Manage project programmes, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
  • Monitor project costs, variations, valuations and commercial performance.
  • Work closely with Quantity Surveyors and commercial teams to maximise project profitability.
  • Coordinate labour, materials, plant and subcontractors.
  • Review drawings, specifications and project documentation.
  • Identify and resolve technical, commercial and operational issues.
  • Attend site, progress and client meetings.
  • Monitor quality, health and safety and compliance across projects.
  • Ensure works are completed to the required specification and standard.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management.
  • Support the business with tenders, pre-construction and new project opportunities where required.

About You

The successful candidate will have strong experience working within the drylining, facades, cladding or wider specialist construction sector and will be confident managing projects from start to finish.

You will ideally have

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within construction.
  • Strong drylining and/or facade experience.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A strong understanding of construction programmes, contracts and project delivery.
  • Good commercial awareness and an understanding of project costs and variations.
  • Excellent client and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
  • The ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • A proactive and commercially focused approach.
