Production Manager / Factory Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of their busy production facility.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and hands-on manager who can lead a production team, drive operational efficiency, maintain high quality standards and ensure the factory operates safely and effectively.
As Production Manager, you will take ownership of the factory's daily operations, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining a safe, organised and efficient working environment.
What will you be doing?
- Lead, motivate and manage the factory team on a day-to-day basis.
- Ensure production schedules are met and customer delivery deadlines are achieved.
- Coordinate daily deliveries, ensuring all required materials, including closers, packers and architraves, are dispatched accurately.
- Oversee goods-in, checking deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Manage stock levels, including ironmongery inventory, and maintain accurate records.
- Purchase production materials and liaise with suppliers to ensure stock availability.
- Chase supplier back orders to minimise production delays.
- Maintain high quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Organise planned machine servicing and coordinate engineer call-outs for breakdowns.
- Ensure machinery is maintained, cleaned and operating efficiently.
- Review weekly machine maintenance inspections completed by operatives and ensure any corrective actions are completed.
- Promote excellent housekeeping standards throughout the factory.
- Manage and maintain the factory training matrix.
- Carry out and review risk assessments, ensuring all actions are completed.
• Organise statutory compliance requirements including
- PAT Testing
- Fire Extinguisher Servicing
- LEV Testing
- Forklift Servicing & LOLER Certification
- Arrange skip collections and dust extraction clearance when required.
- Monitor forklift gas supplies and organise replenishment.
- Oversee the maintenance, servicing, repairs and MOT of the company delivery vehicle.
- Manage end-of-day factory shutdown procedures.
About You
- Previous experience as a
- Production Manager ,
- Factory Manager or
Manufacturing Manager .
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, joinery or production environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- Experience managing stock control, purchasing and supplier relationships.
- A solid understanding of health & safety legislation and factory compliance.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
