Fenris Creations is looking for a Lead Environment Artist to join our London team and play a key role in shaping the visual benchmark for EVE Vanguard; a new multiplayer First Person Shooter experience, connected to the rich universe of EVE Online. This is a hands‑on leadership role combining high‑level artistic ownership with team management and delivery responsibility.

The position will require you to define artistic and technical quality standards for 3D production, create benchmark assets and scenes, guide internal and external artists through clear feedback, and work closely with Art Direction, Tech Art, Design, Production, and Engineering to ensure our environments, props, materials, lighting, and world‑building achieve the right level of quality, clarity, and performance.

We’re looking for someone who can balance creative vision, team leadership, and production realities, and who is motivated to build and grow a high‑performing environment art team. We believe diversity is a strength and we are looking for talent across the board.

Your Tasks

  • Define and maintain artistic and technical quality standards for environment art
  • Lead and manage a team of environment artists, including mentoring, feedback, and performance development
  • Own team output, ensuring assets meet quality, gameplay, and performance requirements within production timelines
  • Create benchmark assets and reference scenes to guide visual direction and execution
  • Establish and improve scalable workflows for modelling, texturing, materials, scene assembly, and engine integration
  • Collaborate closely with Art Direction, Tech Art, Design, Engineering, Lighting, and Production to align on goals and execution
  • Drive alignment and decision‑making across disciplines to maintain visual and technical consistency
  • Oversee external partners and outsource teams, providing clear direction and ensuring work meets internal standards
  • Support planning and estimation, helping balance creative ambition with production constraints

Your Profile

  • Proven experience as a Lead Environment Artist, Principal Artist, or equivalent leadership role in game development
  • Experience managing or leading a team, including mentoring and supporting artist development
  • At least one shipped AA or AAA title in a senior or leadership capacity
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating high‑quality real‑time environment art (environments, props, materials, lighting, world‑building)
  • Ability to define visual benchmarks and clearly communicate quality expectations
  • Strong hands‑on production skills across modelling, UVs, texturing, materials, lighting, and scene assembly
  • Deep understanding of real‑time pipelines, ideally in Unreal Engine
  • Solid grasp of technical constraints (performance, memory, LODs, shaders, draw calls)
  • Experience working across disciplines and driving collaboration and alignment
  • Experience reviewing and directing outsourced or external work
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to balance creative vision with production realities

What We Can Offer You

  • The inspiring challenge of working on a pioneering ambitious project with great co‑workers.
  • An opportunity to learn and grow within an international company.
  • A multicultural work environment that encourages growth, creativity, and innovation
  • Free breakfasts, lunches, drinks, and snacks (in the studio).
  • A family‑friendly work environment with flexible work hours.
  • Enhanced family leave policies.
  • Enhanced employer contributory pension plan.
  • Life Insurance.
