CCP is seeking a Lead Level Designer to join the EVE: Vanguard team at their London office, United Kingdom. The ideal candidate is a self-driven Lead Level Designer and team player ready to shape our game. This role involves working with art and design teams to build engaging worlds and encounters.
You should be highly skilled in world building and prototyping in Unreal Engine, as well as updating and balancing maps as new features arrive.
Your Tasks- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of level designers, fostering creativity and growth.
- Champion the player experience within the game world, driving quality and delivery across the whole development team.
- Ensure all design elements align with the game's vision and production goals.
- Conceptualize, prototype, and implement multiplayer encounters.
- Collaborate across disciplines to deliver cohesive, technically feasible maps.
- Maintain and update design documentation, including the Game Design Document (GDD) and internal wikis.
- Spend 50% of your time on hands-on level design tasks such as map design, landscapes, block outs, POIs and pacing.
- Review builds and offer actionable feedback to improve maps and modes.
- Analyze player data and feedback to refine maps and balance gameplay.
- Minimum 5 years industry experience or at least 1 shipped title.
- Experience in a lead position within the industry.
- Ability to design creative, engaging levels using 3D tools (Unreal or similar).
- Highly experienced in creating and modifying landscapes (using Gaea or similar).
- Ability to visualize and implement engaging POIs.
- Strong knowledge of systems and level design elements and their correlations.
- Understanding player reactions to level elements and ability to adapt them.
- Scripting knowledge or artistic background is a bonus.
