CCP Games is seeking a Senior Game Designer to join the EVE: Vanguard team in their London office, United Kingdom. You will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and refining engaging game systems in Unreal Engine, and bringing fast‑paced, immersive combat experiences to life.

Responsibilities

  • Pitch, design, and prototype game systems and mechanics.
  • Implement approved designs using Unreal Engine.
  • Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including feature specifications and implementation guidelines.
  • Develop handling, weapon gameplay, and combat mechanics, including balancing and data creation.
  • Collaborate with artists, programmers, and other designers to integrate systems seamlessly into gameplay.
  • Maintain balance between multiple gameplay systems to ensure a cohesive and engaging player experience.
  • Prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and actively contribute to design meetings.
  • Implement, balance, and bug‑fix gameplay features from concept to release.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Senior Game Designer in the videogame industry with at least one shipped title, ideally in the shooter genre.
  • Proven experience prototyping in Unreal Engine.
  • Strong understanding of shooter mechanics, player feedback, and pacing.
  • Passion and a strong interest in competitive and co‑operative shooters.
  • Strong UX sensibility and ability to clearly communicate and document ideas.
  • Deep knowledge of rules, systems, and gameplay mechanics.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills.
