Senior Finance Business Partner

CCL Global is supporting a leading UK organization in the search for an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner Manager to join a high-profile programme based in Reading. This is a strategic finance leadership role focused on partnering with senior stakeholders, providing financial insight, challenge and assurance, whilst leading a team of finance business partners supporting complex programmes and business functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, budget holders and accountable leads.
  • Act as a strategic partner, providing financial insight and guidance to support business objectives and decision‑making.
  • Lead and manage Finance Business Partner teams, ensuring effective deployment of resources and delivery of key outputs.
  • Oversee the production of forecasts, budgets, procurement plans, variance analysis and management reporting.
  • Review, challenge and support financial plans to ensure affordability, sustainability and value for money.
  • Support the development, review and approval of business cases and investment decisions.
  • Provide constructive challenge to programme and business teams regarding financial performance and resource planning.
  • Ensure resource demand and supply risks are identified, communicated and managed appropriately.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial awareness, governance and business partnering capability.
  • Coach, mentor and develop team members to support performance and career progression.

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience within Finance Business Partnering, Commercial Finance or Financial Planning & Analysis environments.
  • SC Clearance Required
  • Proven experience influencing and engaging senior stakeholders.
  • Strong financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis capability.
  • Experience reviewing business cases and providing strategic financial challenge.
  • Demonstrable leadership and team management experience.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.
  • Ability to operate effectively within complex, highly regulated environments.
  • Experience supporting major infrastructure, engineering, defence, nuclear or government programmes.
  • Previous experience working within a central finance or business partnering function.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
