Main Job Summary
Completion of cases across multiple clients and forensic disciplines (mobile devices and computers) with varying requirements, including some complex examinations where required. Supporting a wide variety of Laboratory operations through case/project work, training and mentoring, refining technical skills and following company policies and procedures.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Completion of cases for multiple clients, including complex examinations where professional or expert evidence might be a requirement.
- Conduct Defence and bespoke analysis where a high level of knowledge may be required.
- Utilising CCL’s case management system without supervision to effectively manage cases, preserve TRTs & maintain a high level of utilisation, productivity and customer service.
- Progress to an intermediary level of theoretical & practical knowledge into a relevant specialist area.
- Deliver internal & external training where required.
- Assisting with client-facing meetings to scope & translate client needs into technical specifications.
- Regularly conduct Peer Review of Analyst’s standard & complex casework.
- Contributions to CCL’s quality management system – e.g. competency marking, training, validation, auditing.
- Assist with continuous improvement within the Laboratory environment.
- Off-site & International examinations conducted where necessary.
Required Skill Set & Experience:
- A sound understanding of current ACPO guidelines, ISO17025 and the FSR Code of Practice.
- Ability to work with precision, accuracy with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and make sound and reasoned judgements.
- Sound analytical and interpretation skills.
- Excellent knowledge of basic digital forensic techniques.
- Excellent working knowledge of primary digital forensic examination utilities/software.
- Computer literate.
Education:
- Degree level qualification (2:2 or above) BSc in an IT related field; Computer Science or Digital Forensics degrees are desirable.
- Or HND/HNC & 2 -> 5 years’ experience in digital forensics.
