An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) within our Engineering Team at CCL Secure, Wigton. Since 1988 we have supplied over 40 central banks with over 80 denominations of our banknote substrate. We are proud of our product and the people in our team that come together to manufacture it.
Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, this role will support the current multi-skilled engineering team in maintaining a modern plant along with playing a pivotal role in driving process improvements across the site working on a shift pattern. You will be taking part in projects and delivering a high standard of maintenance over a variety of modern plant and equipment as well as services.
Ensure plant and equipment is maintained to enable:
- Equipment meets all safety and regulatory requirements
- Equipment runs at budgeted level of machine uptime
Ensure that maintenance and electrical duties are carried out to:
- Ensure that all safety requirements are met when working with machinery and/or chemicals
- Ensure that Hazardous area requirements are met including installations, PMs and dossier
- Maintain plant and equipment to exceptional standards
- Work orders and Planned Maintenance are carried out within the set time frames
- Re-design and modify plant and machinery to maximize production outputs
- Ensure that detailed information is entered into our Maintenance System including detailed history and downtime
- Carry out Mechanical maintenance duties as and when required
- Take part in analysis of maintenance/electrical/mechanical and breakdown history to ensure the PM schedule is aligned to breakdown history
- Manage/take part in either team or individual projects when required
As the successful candidate for this role, you will be able to work independently and communicate effectively with proven problem solving and analytical skills - as well as having a good working knowledge of the key manufacturing processes. Engineering qualification; HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with industrial experience. Experience within a Manufacturing Environment. Mechanical knowledge of industrial plant and equipment. Mechanical training will be given where gaps in knowledge are identified for the right applicant.
The salary for this role will be up to £46,000 (inclusive of 15% shift allowance) depending on relevant experience. In addition to this, we offer performance related pay and quarterly performance bonus so the ability to directly affect your reward is entirely in your hands. We offer an attractive shift pattern working Monday to Friday. Additionally, you will be given 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays).
