CCL Global is seeking three experienced Maritime Engineering Technical Superintendents to support a major UK public-sector maritime organisation. This is a hands-on technical role responsible for supporting the operational performance, maintenance, compliance and availability of a diverse vessel fleet. Candidates must bring substantial marine engineering experience, ideally at Chief Engineer or equivalent level.

Location: Hampshire, Full time on site.

Contract: 6 month contract (Inside IR35)

Security Clearance: CTC required

Travel: Occasional UK shipyard/boatyard travel with expenses and overnight accommodation covered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee vessel operational performance and forward maintenance planning.
  • Provide technical direction to Chief Engineers and Vessel Managers across planned and unplanned maintenance.
  • Diagnose complex machinery and engineering issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Maximise vessel availability through effective maintenance and usage planning.
  • Ensure compliance with Class, Flag State, IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code and ISO requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact across the fleet.
  • Manage relationships with shipyards, suppliers and specialist engineering contractors.
  • Develop technical requirements and specifications for vessel maintenance periods and contracted works.
  • Review vessel engineering and maintenance standards through ship visits and operational assessments.
  • Identify non-conformances, continuous improvement opportunities and fleet-wide lessons learned.
  • Support procurement, commercial and purchase-order activities relating to maintenance and defect rectification.
  • Undertake assurance visits alongside Health.
