CCL Global are currently recruiting for a Telecoms Engineer for an FEED & EPC project in the UK. The role involves:
- Ensuring compliance of the EPSCC contract Telecom detailed engineering activities with approved SOR and Company standards.
- Attending the FAT and SAT within Telecom discipline, contributing to ensuring a clear handover dossier is provided to the site supervision team.
- Providing technical advice and support to construction supervision regarding Telecom matters.
- Contributing to the effective implementation of the Project HSSE policy and commitment.
- Adopting and demonstrating exemplary behaviour with regard to the Company Ethics and 'Code of Conduct' policy and promoting and enforcing the Corporate Anti-Corruption Program within the project team.
- Providing specialized technical input and support to the Engineering all discipline team for Telecoms matters.
- Liaising and interfacing actively with other discipline specialists regarding disciplines-related matters and on all engineering, procurement, constructability, operability and maintainability matters to ensure consistency of the work.
- Reviewing and approving Telecom material specifications, valve data sheets, and material requisitions in line with project scope and specifications.
- Supporting construction and field teams in resolving material deviations and substitution requests.
- Ensuring telecoms engineering activities are conducted in accordance with project specifications and approved variations if any.
- Being accountable for a quality design of telecoms engineering deliverables, including design safety aspects and execution planning of telecoms field activities.
- Leading work execution, ensuring technical alignment and quality with various disciplines stakeholders from both PMT and EPC Contractor.
- Providing guidance to EPC contractor to complete Telecom design as per project specifications in a timely manner and providing clear direction when project instructions or specifications are not clear.
- Managing the purchase order with the EPC Contractor and System Vendors in accordance with the roles and responsibilities given in the contract to ensure safe and seamless integration of the systems without any disturbance to the existing operating facilities.
- Leading the Contractor to develop plans and work schedules that ensure effective completion of project activities and providing data (narrative, charts, graphs), change management recommendations and recovery plans to address any schedule delays for monthly progress and stewardship reporting.
- Supporting multi-discipline activities providing telecommunications expertise to other disciplines as necessary, in support of completing activities within schedule and making appropriate recommendations to management on telecommunications issues.
- Supporting interfacing between key vendors and other EPC contractors to ensure quality and execution objectives are met.
- Providing field engineering support to construction and commissioning works to ensure field execution at site meets project plans.
Requirements:
- 10-15 years in Oil and Gas projects as Telecom Lead/Sr Telecom engineer.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or System.
- Previous experience with international Engineering EPC Contractors on projects of similar scale.
- Previous experience with Brownfield engineering and execution is desired.
- Competence in accordance with global Telecommunications Engineering competency and development framework.
- Conversant with relevant Telecommunications national and international standards and has a broad understanding of all aspects of Telecommunications systems and a deep understanding of own speciality(ies).
- Proven track records of delivering a portfolio of Telecom EPC projects including complex and multiple vendor projects within international settings.
- Hands-on expertise and design experience with telecoms equipment and systems design (OTN, UHF TETRA VHF radio Systems, IP Networks), security (access control, CCTV surveillance networks, fence intruder detection, ANPR), public/emergency announcement (PAGA), and networks (WANs, LANs, Industrial Wireless Networks Wiring, Routers, Switches, Servers etc), ship/shore communication systems, Hazardous area requirements (EExd, EEi, EExe).
- Proficiency in fibre optic cabling network design, copper cable networks and relevant infrastructure such as duct banks, cable / ladder tray designs.
- Transition of design engineering to construction deliverables.
