CCL Global is supporting a major organisation within the UK nuclear sector in the search for an experienced Category Manager – Digital / IT. This is an opportunity to support a nationally significant programme focused on strengthening the UK's energy security and supporting the delivery of future nuclear technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies across Digital and IT procurement, working closely with internal stakeholders to deliver value, cost efficiency and high-quality supplier performance.

Location: Nationwide (Hybrid with ability to travel into HQ)

Type of Contract: Permanent

Key duties will include:

  • Develop and implement category strategies for Digital and IT procurement.
  • Identify emerging technologies, supplier markets and innovation opportunities.
  • Conduct market research to assess suppliers, pricing models and technology solutions.
  • Work closely with IT, finance, operations and wider internal stakeholders.
  • Lead category management initiatives, ensuring delivery to time, cost and quality.
  • Negotiate contracts and secure favourable commercial terms.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, governance and procurement requirements.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Track and analyse category performance against agreed KPIs.
  • Lead cross-functional procurement projects, managing risks and stakeholder expectations.
  • Prepare reports, insights and recommendations for senior management.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in category management, procurement or strategic sourcing.
  • Strong background in Digital and IT procurement is highly desirable.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic sourcing plans that deliver value and cost efficiencies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, market trends and supplier performance.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong supplier relationship management experience.
  • Proficiency with relevant procurement, category management or business systems.
  • Degree in Business, IT, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrable experience.

This role would suit an experienced procurement professional with strong Digital / IT category experience who is comfortable working in a highly regulated industry, complex, stakeholder-led environment.
