Christadelphian Care Homes exists mainly, although not exclusively, to care for members of the Christadelphian Faith. We operate a number of Care Homes and Sheltered Housing schemes throughout the UK and are able to deliver care tailored to individual needs from low support through to residential, nursing and specialised care, including dementia. At our site in Kings Norton, we are looking for a Part Time Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team, working on average 21 hours per week, with morning and afternoon shifts. This role requires working alternating weekends. There is also an opportunity for overtime covering holidays and sickness. The successful candidate will help create a warm and homely environment that enables us to meet each resident’s needs. In this role you will help prepare nutritious and appetising meals for our residents, ensuring that mealtimes are a highlight of their day. You will also be responsible for maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety within the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in cooking high-quality meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Store food safely and hygienically in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen and care teams to deliver a positive dining experience.
Person Specification
  • Previous experience working in a similar role or care setting.
  • Understanding of the importance of mealtimes for older, vulnerable individuals.
  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
  • A strong team player with a positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively.
  • A caring and approachable nature.
  • Reliability and proactive attitude.
  • Willingness to undertake training to develop within the role.
