We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our dedicated team at Eden House. The successful candidate will support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals that cater to the diverse dietary needs and preferences of our residents, ensuring that our food service reflects the values and ethos of Christadelphian Care Homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing balanced, nutritious meals that adhere to dietary requirements and individual preferences.
  • Ensure all meals are prepared and presented to the highest standards, maintaining consistency and quality.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to maintain a cohesive and efficient team.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory, including ordering and stock control, to minimize waste and ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with care staff to accommodate the specific dietary needs of residents, including those with medical conditions or allergies.
  • Contribute to menu development, incorporating resident feedback and seasonal variations.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a care home, hospital, or similar environment is preferred.
  • Relevant culinary qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery).
  • Strong understanding of dietary requirements and nutrition, particularly in a care setting.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage time efficiently.
