Christadelphian Care Homes exists mainly, although not exclusively, to care for members of the Christadelphian Faith. We operate a number of Care Homes and Sheltered Housing schemes throughout the UK and are able to deliver care tailored to individual needs from low support through to residential, nursing and specialised care, including dementia. Our aim is to enable our residents to lead fulfilling lives and participate in regular activities, individually tailored to residents’ wishes.

Olivet isn’t a home, it’s a community, with residential, nursing and dementia care in one location, all provided by a qualified and dedicated team. Olivet is home to over 60 residents living in the home itself and the 30 independent living apartments just a stone's throw from the home. All residents are invited to join in the activities and life of the home.

We are seeking a Cook to join our dedicated kitchen team at our site in Acocks Green on a zero hours contract. In this role, you will help prepare nutritious and appetising meals for our residents, ensuring that mealtimes are a highlight of their day. You will also be responsible for maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety within the kitchen.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in cooking high-quality meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents.
  • Assist in menu planning, incorporating nutritional balance and variety.
  • Ensure food is presented attractively and served at the correct temperature.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Store food safely and correctly, following proper labelling and rotation procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen and care teams to deliver a positive dining experience.
Person Specification
  • Experience working in a busy kitchen, preferably in a care home or similar setting.
  • Understanding of the importance of mealtimes for older, vulnerable individuals.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
  • A strong team player with a positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively.
