Location: Birmingham, B6

Pay: Sunday Day £15 and Waking Nights £15.50

Shifts: 2x Waking Nights (22:00-08:00) per week and every Sunday Day (0800-1800)

We are seeking dedicated, compassionate and reliable Paediatric Complex Care Support Worker to join the care team for a beautiful 8‑year‑old girl living at home in Aston, Birmingham with her loving family. As the youngest of five children, she is surrounded by warmth, attention and continuous family involvement in her care.

About me: At the age of two, I experienced a life‑changing accident resulting in a severe spinal cord injury. I am now completely paralysed and require full clinical support. My diagnoses include:

  • Diffuse axonal injury
  • Unstable C0/C1 cervical spine
  • Post‑traumatic quadriplegia
  • 24/7 invasive ventilation

My daily care also includes intermittent catheterisation, PEG feeds and medication, bowel care, cough assist and nebulisers. While experience in these areas is desirable, full training will be provided. Despite my complex needs, I am an expressive, engaging and affectionate little girl, non‑verbal but demonstrates good understanding and enjoys interacting through my favourite activities. I love my tablet—especially YouTube shows like Ben and Holly and Peppa Pig—story time, nursery rhymes and calm, gentle company. I attend school five days a week, where I thrive on routine, social interaction and structured support.

Role Overview: You will be part of a highly skilled and supportive care team providing:

  • One‑to‑one clinical care within the family home

  • Overnight respite care to ensure the family receives essential rest
  • A warm, patient and attentive presence that helps her feel safe, calm and engaged
