As a Senior Director of Software Engineering - Data Privacy Engineering Lead in the Chief Data & Analytics Office, you will manage the Data Privacy & Governance roadmap, ensuring alignment with global privacy priorities and business objectives. You will lead privacy-centric initiatives, oversee engineering projects, and drive technical direction for privacy impact assessments and technology integrations. Your role will focus on privacy risk identification, regulatory compliance, and executive-level reporting, partnering with product teams to deliver business outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the Data Privacy & Governance roadmap, aligning with global privacy strategic priorities and business objectives.
- Lead firmwide privacy initiatives, including consent management, data retention, and cross-border data transfer governance.
- Drive technical direction for Privacy Impact Assessment, overseeing new data privacy technology initiatives and third-party integrations.
- Structure roadmap delivery and operating model across the organization.
- Oversee engineering projects, risks, issues, and dependencies, focusing on privacy risk identification, remediation tracking, and regulatory compliance milestones.
- Develop and maintain privacy metrics, KPIs, and dashboards for executive visibility into privacy posture and compliance status.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports and presentations to C-Level Executives, communicating program status, risks, and achievements.
- Partner with product teams to drive business outcomes and ensure technical programs align with strategic goals.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience leading Data Governance and Data Privacy organizations.
- Strong understanding of global data privacy regulations to inform technical architecture and engineering requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple portfolios and competing priorities.
- Proficiency in technical solutions, vendor product knowledge, and managing vendor relations.
- Knowledge of records retention, legal holds, and defensible disposal across structured and unstructured data.
- Proven track record deploying and governing enterprise metadata, catalog, and lineage platforms.
- Practical expertise with data contracts and schema governance.
- Ability to evaluate and drive technical decisions regarding data platform trade-offs, including performance, cost, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Technical understanding of modern data platform architectures, including data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouse architectures, and distributed computing frameworks.
- Experience with enterprise-scale implementations of cloud-native data platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.
- Strong knowledge of AWS data analytics services, including Redshift, EMR, Glue, Athena, Kinesis, Lake Formation, MSK, and S3 data lake patterns.

- Experience navigating complex data governance, security, and compliance requirements across multi-cloud and hybrid data environments.
- Ability to deliver executive-level reports and presentations.
