We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Electrical Design Engineer to join our established multidisciplinary Building Services team. The practice works on a variety of projects in and around Aberdeen and across the whole of Scotland as well as UK wide, operating across commercial, residential, industrial, and healthcare sectors. This is a genuine opportunity for the right candidate to develop and progress their career to the next level and beyond.
The Role
You would play a key part in the Electrical Design team and the wider company and would be expected to lead projects and mentor junior team members. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing electrical systems for building service projects.
- Preparing technical reports and specifications.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Collaborating with other engineers, architects, and clients.
- Producing Bills of Quantities and providing cost control / reports per project.
- Mentoring junior team members.
Education, Experience and Key Skills
- Preferably a degree in electrical engineering or a related field but minimum of HNC/HND or equivalent.
- At least 2 years’ experience in electrical design engineering on Building Services projects.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD / Revit drawing packages.
- Good working skills with Microsoft office.
- Working knowledge of lighting design packages such as Dialux & Relux.
- Good working knowledge of electrical design software.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and building regulations, best practice, and innovative technologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Renumeration Package
Competitive salary based on a 35-hour working week, along with a range of benefits, negotiable for the right candidate and based on experience and capability. You will be given the support required to develop technically and professionally.
