Background of department/role

An exciting opportunity to join our friendly and supportive Directorate Administration Team within Digital and Student Experience (DASE). As a Directorate Administrator, you will provide high-quality executive and administrative support across four Directorates, helping to ensure effective governance, strong communication and business continuity. Working with colleagues across DASE and the wider University, you will coordinate a diverse range of activities including recruitment and onboarding, governance administration, communications, compliance monitoring, records management and continuous improvement initiatives.

The team provides support across a wide range of activities, including (but not limited to):

  • Providing consistent executive support and helping maintain business continuity.
  • Coordinating governance processes, reporting activities and Directorate-wide communications.
  • Supporting recruitment activity, onboarding and induction for new staff.
  • Monitoring and reporting on Health, Safety and Wellbeing compliance requirements.
  • Maintaining key Directorate information, records, systems and digital resources.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, staff engagement activities, leadership visibility programmes and the delivery of key DASE and University priorities.
  • Coordinating Directorate meetings, action tracking, events and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Supporting workforce planning, compliance monitoring and the production of management information and reports.

To be successful in this role, you will be an organised and proactive individual with a strong customer service ethos and a keen eye for detail. You’ll enjoy working collaboratively, managing multiple tasks with confidence.

Desirable requirements: Digital literacy and strong communication skills.

Confidence in using a range of digital tools and systems will help you navigate day-to-day tasks efficiently, while clear and professional communication both written and verbal is key to building effective relationships across the Directorate and beyond.

How will you work?

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is Flexible and connected (Professional Services).

Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus; but in most cases the work location will be determined by the service required or the tasks/activities being undertaken.
