Qualifications

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree or qualification equivalent of level 6
  • A qualification equivalent of level 4 and a minimum IELTS band score of 5.5

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead the children department
  • Create a child‑friendly environment that considers Health and Safety requirements
  • Teach the children Godly values and morals
  • Prepare and deliver child‑friendly sermons including creative and educative spiritual materials for children
  • Engage the children in creative arts and crafts
  • Organise and provide suitable snacks and meals for the children
  • Lead the children church in praise, worship and prayers
  • Deputise for the Senior Pastor
  • Perform pastoral care duties and conduct some services in accordance with our constitution

Requirements for the role

  • Must be a born‑again Christian, believe in Jesus Christ as the only begotten son of God, the Holy Spirit and the Holy Bible as the word of God
  • Open to the move and voice of God
  • An active, Pentecostal Christian
  • Ability to communicate effectively with adults (parents, team members, church leadership etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills with children and young people and proficiency in English Language
  • Ability to use modern and innovative ways to communicate
  • Ability to lead or participate in church services

Experience

  • Regularly leading under 18s clubs in a church or Christian organisation
  • Actively leading under 18s discipleship in a church context (e.g. Sunday School)
  • Experience of team leading
  • Experience of organising holiday clubs
  • Ability to work proactively and with minimal or no supervision
  • Experience of teaching children the bible and leading congregational worship in an ethnically diverse congregation is desirable.
