Overview

Senior Compliance Specialist – Investigator (Compliance Investigator) works with a team to develop and implement an overall strategy for internal Compliance investigations.

The Investigator is responsible for investigating cases involving alleged violations of law or GE Aerospace policy.

The role involves working with Legal, Compliance, HR and other stakeholders to conduct investigations of policy concerns raised through the open reporting system.

The Investigator must be a self-starter with the ability to manage a large and varied caseload, work independently with minimal supervision, and be thorough, fair, and objective with attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal skills are required to interface effectively with senior business and functional leaders throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct independent investigations.
  • Carry out prompt, thorough, and objective investigations into alleged violations of law or company policy.

Cases may involve GE Aerospace’s Spirit & Letter policies, including matters related to respectful workplace, finance, conflict of interest, quality, sourcing, EHS, information technology and security, intellectual property, improper payments, competition law, and more.

  • Review and assess complaints and allegations; develop and manage investigation plans and strategies.
  • Conduct concern raiser, witness, and subject interviews.
  • Conduct investigative research, including review and analysis of reliable information (emails, data files, invoices), forensic analysis, and review of GE Aerospace policies and procedures.
  • Provide oral briefings to senior leadership and functional owners on cases; identify appropriate corrective actions.
  • Draft reports to ensure investigations are clearly and properly documented; maintain client relationships and provide evidence-based conclusions and recommendations.
  • Know and understand applicable legal and policy requirements for investigations (including employee interviews, data privacy, labor and employment requirements); monitor changes and provide guidance to colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college and relevant experience in compliance investigations within a highly regulated business sector; legal authorization to work in the UK is required.
  • Desired Characteristics
  • Law degree, post-graduate degree in business or related field, or audit/quality background.
  • Prior experience in Compliance, Law, Audit, Quality, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Proven analytical and evaluation skills; ability to prepare, present, and discuss findings and recommendations at a senior level with clear and concise reporting.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills; understanding of UK employment grievance and/or disciplinary rules.
  • Fluency in English; other languages are a plus.
