Job Title: Junior Business Manager, Touring
Maintaining the books and records using Sage Line 50/XERO. To include overall effective and proactive management of high profile clients’ day to day affairs, eg cash flow, debtor collection, touring, tax and VAT provisions;This will include:
- Posting bank and tour float transactions and reconciling at month end
- Raising and posting sales invoices, reviewing outstanding debtors and assisting with debtor collection
- Posting purchase invoices, reviewing outstanding creditors and reconciling supplier statements
- Posting credit card transactions and reconciling statements
- Reviewing agency statements, posting all transactions and reconciling against debtors
- Preparing VAT Returns on Sage/XERO in line with the new Making Tax Digital requirements
Business Management
- To hold small client portfolio
- Preparation of sole trader, partnership, Ltd and LLP management and year end accounts
- Review and completion of bank account opening forms
- Responsible for overseeing VAT return preparation/first review VAT returns for clients
- Understanding of Agency statements and tour floats
- Assist with client onboarding, cashflows, insurance, open bank accounts
- Completion of VAT returns with minimal review points
- Communication with Artist Management and wider artist team including booking agents, tour managers and insurers to assist with day to day running of the touring activities.
- Daily review of banking and cashflow for all clients and to set up all approved bank payments.
- Communicate with suppliers and artist management to gain approval on purchase invoices to pay.
- To communicate with booking agents to gain contracts for upcoming shows, raise sales invoices and send out to the promoters.
- Communicate with record labels for tour support requests and back-end reporting.
Skills & Qualifications Required
- 2-4 years Practice experience; Previous music accountancy practice experience desirable
- Part qualified/Qualifed; ACA/ACCA studying or QBE
- Ability to assist with Business Management (WHT mitigation, insurance, (including FEU and CWA) and Social Security;
- Understanding of royalties income streams, eg PRS/PPL and international equivalents;
- Proficient analytical skills;
- General understanding of work undertaken by all departments (Personal Tax, Corporation Tax, Royalties & Audit, and Company Secretarial);
- Previous use of Sage & XERO desired;
- Timesheet management;
- Effective organisation; and
- Ability to prioritise workload
