Job Description
How will AI, changing skills and business transformation reshape the workforce over the next five years?
C&C Search is partnering with a major UK organisation to appoint a Senior Strategic Workforce Planning Specialist who will help turn these questions into clear, evidence-based business decisions.
Joining a small, highly experienced team, you will connect business strategy, financial planning and transformation priorities with the people and capabilities the organisation will need in the future. Your work will help senior leaders assess options and make informed decisions about skills, capacity, cost, productivity and automation.
The role
- Develop workforce scenarios that translate strategic priorities into practical recommendations.
- Analyse future demand and current supply across skills, tasks, roles, locations and capacity.
- Identify workforce gaps, risks and opportunities over a three- to five-year horizon.
- Combine internal workforce data with external labour market, skills and technology insight.
- Assess how AI and automation could change work and future workforce requirements.
- Partner with HR, Finance, Digital, Transformation and business leaders to embed workforce insight into planning.
- Present clear recommendations on hiring, developing, redeploying and reskilling talent.
- Help establish consistent planning methods and repeatable approaches across a complex organisation.
About you
You bring experience in strategic workforce planning, workforce analytics or business planning within a large, complex organisation. You understand how business strategy, financial assumptions and workforce requirements connect, and can translate that understanding into practical options.
You are analytical, precise and comfortable working with complex data, testing assumptions and explaining your conclusions. You can move confidently between detailed analysis and conversations with senior stakeholders, bringing sound judgement and constructive challenge.
You will also bring:
- An understanding of skills, tasks, job architecture and organisation design.
- Experience in workforce forecasting, demand and supply modelling or scenario planning.
- The initiative to work independently while contributing to an experienced team.
- An interest in technology and how AI is changing work.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions.
Experience in banking, telecommunications or infrastructure would be particularly relevant, although comparable experience in other complex organisations will also be considered.
Why consider this opportunity?
This is an opportunity to influence how a major organisation prepares for the future. You will help shape decisions about capability, investment and transformation, with scope to strengthen how strategic workforce planning is used across the business.
