It’s a place of comfort, trust, and wonder, and we’re looking for a Head of Baby Room who truly understands just how important those early moments are.
If you’re an experienced Early Years professional with a deep love for working with babies, a calm, nurturing presence, and the confidence to lead a team with warmth and care, this could be your perfect next step.
This Role Is All About Babies. As Head of Baby Room, you’ll lead a team dedicated to providing a home-from-home environment where babies feel safe, secure, and deeply loved. You’ll shape practice that responds to each baby’s individual rhythms from sleep and feeding routines to sensory exploration and early communication. You’ll be hands-on, attentive, and tuned in to the tiniest cues, knowing that every cuddle, song, and smile plays a part in a baby’s development.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading the Baby Room with warmth, consistency, and confidence
- Creating a calm, nurturing environment where babies feel safe and settled
- Supporting responsive care routines that follow each baby’s individual needs
- Championing attachment-led practice and the key person approach
- Planning gentle, sensory-rich experiences that support early development
- Supporting and mentoring your team to deliver the very best baby care
- Building trusting, reassuring relationships with families
- Ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and wellbeing
What We’re Looking For:
- A full and relevant Early Years / Childcare qualification
- Strong experience working with babies in an Early Years setting
- Confidence leading or mentoring a team
- A deep understanding of attachment, early development, and baby-led routines
- A calm, patient nature and a genuine love for caring for babies
Why You’ll Love Being Part of Murrayfield Nursery:
We believe exceptional baby care starts with a supported, valued team. Our benefits include:
- Access to MO, our platform for sharing MOments of joy, learning, and achievement
- At least 60% childcare discount
- 30 days annual leave, including bank holidays and Christmas closure
- Birthday off plus a dedicated wellbeing day
- Paid training and opportunities for further qualifications
- INSET days for team learning, reflection, and development
- Sovereign Healthcare Programme (after 3 months) and Employee Assistance Programme
