A European pharmaceutical company with a strong presence in hospital-based anti-infectives is expanding its UK commercial team and is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to manage and grow its secondary care business across the West Midlands, South West and Wales.
The Role. This is a field-based role focused on driving uptake of established and pipeline anti-infective products within hospital settings. Key responsibilities include:
- Promoting a portfolio of anti-infective medicines to specialist physicians and hospital stakeholders
- Managing and growing business performance across a large, strategically important territory
- Developing and executing a robust regional account plan in collaboration with the UK Sales Manager
- Leading and supporting hospital formulary submissions and access processes
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and key decision-makers
- Supporting the launch of new products in secondary care
- Attending and actively participating in national and international medical congresses
- Maintaining accurate CRM records and providing regular activity and performance reports
- Working autonomously while contributing to a collaborative UK commercial team
You will report directly to the UK Sales Manager.
Candidate Profile: This role would suit a proven secondary care sales professional with strong experience in hospital environments. You will be able to demonstrate:
- A successful track record selling pharmaceutical products into secondary care on this territory or similar
- Strong understanding of hospital structures and formulary application processes
- Established relationships with hospital customers across the region
- Experience in anti-infectives is highly desirable but not essential
- Confidence engaging with senior clinicians and healthcare stakeholders
- Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills
- Strong territory planning and time management capabilities
- Ability to understand and communicate complex clinical and scientific data
- A self-motivated, proactive and resilient mindset
- Full UK driving licence
- Solid IT skills including CRM systems, Excel and Word
- Residence within the territory is required
