We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in quantity surveying within the construction industry. As a Trainee QS, you will support the commercial team in managing costs, preparing estimates, preparing subcontract and consultant orders and ensuring projects are delivered within budget.
You will gain hands‐on experience across a range of projects, working closely with experienced professionals while receiving training and support to develop your skills and progress towards a professional qualification (e.g. RICS or CIOB).
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in preparing subcontract and consultant order documents.
- Assist in preparing estimates, cost plans, and tender documents.
- Support the measurement and valuation of works (on‐site and from drawings).
- Help monitor project costs and variations.
- Assist with subcontractor procurement and management, including issuing enquiries, comparing quotes, and preparing orders.
- Attend site meetings and liaise with site teams and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and assist in producing reports for senior QS/commercial manager.
- Work towards professional qualifications and undertake relevant training.
- Strong interest in construction and commercial management.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Full UK driving licence (if required for site travel).
