Criterion Capital are seeking an experienced and dynamic Quantity Surveyor to join our in‑house contracting team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of our development projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects and contribute to the growth and success of our business. Projects across the portfolio include: commercial to hotel conversions, mixed use residential, private residential refurbishments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets.
- Conduct cost analysis and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and evaluate tenders, bills of quantities, and contracts.
- Source and procure materials and subcontractors.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts.
- Manage and track project expenditures and ensure accurate cost reporting.
- Conduct regular cost reviews and provide financial updates to senior management.
- Administer contract terms and conditions, ensuring compliance and resolution of any issues.
- Manage variations and changes to the project scope.
- Prepare and issue interim and final payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Identify and assess potential risks related to cost and contract management.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders.
- Provide support and advice on financial and contractual matters.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to decision‑making processes.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within an in‑house contractor or development business.
- Proven track record of managing project finances and contracts on large‑scale developments.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in using relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, Procore, DocuSign).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
