About the Role

The purpose of this role is to lead the end‑to‑end management of supplier income (retrospective rebates), ensuring accurate accounting, robust balance sheet control, and maximisation of gross margin and cash realisation. The role partners closely with Commercial and Financial Control to drive profitability insights, support pricing decisions, and ensure all commercial income is accurately captured, reported, and realised. This role provides significant exposure across Commercial and Buying and plays a key role in ongoing systems and process transformation initiatives.

  • Own end‑to‑end accounting for supplier income (retrospective rebates), including P&L and balance sheet
  • Lead monthly close, forecasting and reporting of supplier income performance
  • Maintain robust balance sheet control and act as key audit lead for supplier income areas
  • Partner with Commercial and Buying teams to drive pricing, margin optimisation and profitability insights
  • Ensure all supplier income is accurately captured, invoiced, reported and realised as cash
  • Oversee and enhance supplier income invoicing processes for efficiency and accuracy
  • Support and lead system and process improvement initiatives
  • Manage, coach and develop a team of 6, driving performance and continuous improvement
  • Influence stakeholders across finance and non‑finance teams to deliver commercial outcomes

About You

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience in P&L and balance sheet control
  • Proven background in managing complex income streams (ideally supplier rebates or income accounting)
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to translate financial data into clear business insights
  • Confident partnering with non‑finance stakeholders across Commercial and Buying teams
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Experience leading and developing teams, driving performance and engagement
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Systems‑savvy with a continuous improvement mindset
