C&C Group plc is a premium drinks company which owns, manufactures, markets and distributes a unique portfolio of beer and cider brands in its home markets and across the globe. You probably know us best from brands like Bulmers, Magners and Tennent’s. This role primarily sits in our wholesale distribution business, Matthew Clark Bibendum. A leading drinks wholesaler in the UK, operating under the C&C Group, known for distributing a wide range of beverages to the hospitality industry.
The role is based in our modern office in Bristol. The purpose of this role is to assist with the administration, accounting and invoicing of all supplier rebates, this includes query resolution and ongoing maintenance of rebate related master data in our pricing and rebate software.
The role is ideal for anyone who is studying as it covers balance sheet control, P&L analysis, business partnering, master data management, amongst many other areas that will link with and compliment their learning. This is an exciting time to join the team as we are rolling out some technology and process changes in the coming months and this role will be at the forefront of such change.
Key Responsibilities
- Invoicing supplier income and customer support, ensuring all copy documents are filed to allow easy retrieval of information when required
- Resolving invoice queries to ensure prompt payment.
- Ensuring relevant backups are uploaded to third party systems and attached to documents.
- Responsibility of maintaining the invoicing portal.
- Preparation of month end journals and completion of month end tasks in line with company deadlines.
- Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, ensuring all reconciling items are cleared in a timely manner.
- Preparing reports for sales or marketing teams and provide meaningful margin analysis in relation to retrospective discounts.
- Effective management of customer and supplier contracts including liaising with the Legal team.
- Update and maintain rebate tables in our pricing and rebate software.
- Liaising with sales, buying, marketing, commercial finance, customers and suppliers to resolve any queries with supplier and customer retros.
- Identifying areas of continuous improvement.
- Any other support as required by the Supplier Retro Manager.
About you
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Good prioritisation skills with a proactive attitude.
- Good people skills and comfortable dealing with different parties for prompt query resolution.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Previous experience of working in a finance department and undertaking balance sheet reconciliations is essential.
- AAT qualified or CIMA / ACCA part qualified
