Salary: £180 - £200 per day

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent (PAYE - Monthly Pay)

Overtime: Available, paid at time and a half

Call Out: 7-day on-call rota (paid in addition to basic pay)

About Us

CC Cousins is a leading facilities maintenance provider, delivering services to commercial and retail properties throughout the midlands and South of the UK. We provide a full range of FM services including large projects, Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), and reactive maintenance.

We are currently recruiting a Fire Door Engineer / Multi-Trade Carpenter to join our Reactive Team on a full-time permanent basis. This role is ideally suited to a multi-skilled engineer with a strong bias towards carpentry and fire door works.

Role Overview

You will be part of our reactive building fabric department, carrying out a wide range of maintenance and installation works across multiple client sites. Travel is a key element of the role, with works ranging from small reactive repairs to larger quoted jobs, all completed to a high standard.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of fire doors
  • Hanging internal and external doors
  • Installing handles, locks, and ironmongery
  • Panel works
  • Skirting installation
  • Fence repairs and installation
  • General carpentry and building fabric works
  • Supporting reactive maintenance tasks across multiple trades
  • Completing jobs efficiently while maintaining high quality standards

Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Work independently or as part of a team, using initiative to resolve issues on site
  • Complete all works within allocated timeframes
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality
  • Adhere strictly to Health & Safety regulations at all times
  • Accurately report works completed and any additional remedial requirements
  • Provide a professional and customer-focused service on all sites

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • Minimum NVQ Level 2 in a trade (Carpentry highly advantageous)
  • Fire door inspection and installation qualification advantageous (FDIS/ Dmtrada)
  • SMSTS / SSSTS (Advantageous)
  • Full UK Driving Licence (required)
  • Proven experience in carpentry and fire door works
  • Multi-trade skillset essential
  • Willingness to travel across the South of the UK
