Central Building & Welding Academy have an exciting opportunity for an experienced construction tutor or a tradesperson that wants to re-train as a tutor and pass their skills onto the next generation teaching 16-18 year old students.
CBWA are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated tutor who can inspire our learners and help them to reach their full potential with our level 1 and 2 construction courses. At CBWA we pride ourselves on our ability to support young learners that have previously struggled to engage in regular academic environments. This course is an established part of our curriculum, and we are a high achieving training provider with strong links to the local authority and many of the schools in our area.
Our group sizes are small and manageable, in this role, you will be working with a maximum of six learners. You will also be supported by our functional skills and quality assurance staff and be allocated a coach to help you settle into your new role.

As a Construction tutor, you should:
- Hold a relevant teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one (we will fund if needed)
- A relevant construction qualification/industry experience in construction or
willing to work towards
- Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics or willing to work towards
- Provide evidence of continuing professional development
Experienced Tutors should be able to demonstrate:
- Evidence of effective tracking and monitoring, lesson planning, resource
development.
- Experience of teaching Construction from Levels 1 within a teaching/training
environment
- Ability to support with functional skills within relevant subject area
