Mechanical Maintenance Engineer | FM Service Provider | Commercial Building Teddington, South West London | Up to £45,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading FM service provider based in Teddington, South West London.We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a static, site-based role within a large and prestigious commercial building.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, holding a City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 qualification, with a proven track record in commercial building maintenance.

You will be responsible for carrying out mechanically-biased M&E and fabric planned and reactive maintenance as part of a close-knit team of three engineers, working alongside an on-site supervisor.You will be responsible for all landlord services across the building and will be required to demonstrate hands‑on knowledge and experience of the following:

Duties

  • HVAC plant and plant room maintenance
  • Air conditioning — air handling units and fan coil units (filter changes and cleaning)
  • Chillers — monitoring and resets
  • Pumps, motors and cooling tower maintenance
  • Water treatment — temperature checks (non-dosing)
  • Lighting — small installations, fault-finding, lamping, ballast changes, control panels and power distribution
  • Emergency lighting testing and certification
  • Fire alarm testing
  • UPS systems — monitoring and taking readings
  • Pressurisation units
  • BMS — monitoring hot and cold systems
  • Plumbing — unblocking toilets, changing taps, seals, etc.
  • General building fabric maintenance
  • Escorting and overseeing sub-contractors

Hours of Work

  • Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00 (40-hour week)
  • One week in 7, working a 10:00–19:00 shift
  • On‑call: 1 in 4 rota

Package

  • Basic salary up to £45,000 per annum
  • On‑call allowance of an additional £5,000 per annum (1 in 4 rota)

Requirements

  • Mechanically / plumbing qualified — C&G / NVQ Level 2 (minimum)
  • Copies of all trade certificates will be required upon application
  • Proven track record in commercial or property maintenance
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Reliable, honest and hardworking
