Fabric Engineer – FM Service Provider – Poole – Up to £23p/h – Temporary
An exciting immediate opportunity to join an established building services company based in Poole.
CBW is currently recruiting for a Fabric Engineer; the successful candidate will have an all‑around understanding of most fabric duties and a proven track record in commercial building maintenance.
Working within a team on‑site, the candidate will need to carry out fabric PPM and reactive maintenance.

- Monday to Friday
- 08:00 – 17:00
- Up to £23 per hour (umbrella)
- Immediate start
- Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Painting & decorating
- General fabric repairs
- Furniture moves/porterage
- Fixing furniture
- Hanging pictures & shelves
- Maintaining and updating log books
- Assist the maintenance team on site (e. g. PPMs, fire alarm tests, tap temperature checks, flushing)
- Escort sub‑contractors
- Undertake basic “Fabric duties” which would include touching up paintwork, tightening hinges, installing/repairing blinds, changing locks, making minor repairs to cabinets, desks, and assembling small equipment such as chairs, etc.
Requirements
- Knowledge of commercial building maintenance
- Understanding of most building fabric duties
- Good communication skills
- Health & safety experience
- Basic PC literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, smartphone use)
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service
- Self‑motivation with ability to manage tight time constraints and prioritise workload
