CBW Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting for a Lead Engineer to join a large site in Peckham, South East London. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a leading Facilities Management provider across a busy and diverse university estate comprising a mix of teaching, office, and communal spaces. The successful candidate will be Electrically or Mechanically qualified, responsible for managing a team of 5 engineers, overseeing daily maintenance operations, and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery. Working closely with the Contract Management team, you will coordinate planned and reactive maintenance, maintain strong client relationships, and ensure compliance across the site.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 17:00pm

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage agreed KPIs and SLAs alongside the Contract Management team
  • Lead, support, and develop a team of 5 engineers on site
  • Arrange and oversee specialist subcontractors
  • Manage reports, permits, and site logbooks
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, up to date, and audit-ready
  • Attend client meetings and provide technical support where required
  • Carry out lighting maintenance, small installations, fault finding, and lamp replacements
  • Conduct emergency lighting and fire alarm testing
  • Undertake air conditioning maintenance including AHUs and FCUs (filter changes, cleaning, and basic inspections)
  • Monitor and adjust BMS systems in response to building requirements
  • Ensure all statutory compliance requirements are met
  • Support reactive maintenance and fault diagnosis across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures

Requirements

  • Electrical or Mechanical qualification (NVQ / City & Guilds Level 2 or 3, or equivalent)
  • Multi-skilled engineer with a strong commercial building maintenance background
  • Previous experience leading or supervising engineering teams
  • Experience working within large commercial buildings, campuses, or complex estates
  • Client-facing, professional, and presentable
  • Hard-working, reliable, and proactive approach to maintenance
  • Able to cover 'Call out' (Approximately twice per year)
